Neston Riverside WI Newsletter July 2023
Committee: Pauline Hignett, Philippa Pill, Janice Harris, Jennifer Ricketts, Sue Kendall, Sue Evans, Christine Byrne, Lesley Williams, Dee Pope and Norma Brunsdon
Dear Members,
Thanks to Peter Cunnington’s talk I am looking at my garden in a new light but this torrential rain seems to have made the weeds grow bigger than my plants wherever they’re from.
As you are aware it is our Birthday Buffet next week which of course replaces our meeting. Janice has paid our bill so we can relax and enjoy. Please be there at 6.30 for 7.00.
Philippa and I had an enjoyable evening at Pauline Pollard’s poetry and prose meeting. The next one is on the theme of ‘The Sea’ so come along if you can.
We have now had three invitations from other WIs to join their activities which is generous of them and a good way forward for us. Seven of us are joining Willaston Hey on a visit to Lytham and Lytham hall there are still a couple of places left if anyone wants to go. Cost of the coach is £10.
So far two people have let us know they’d like to go to Jodrell Bank with Ness and Little Neston.
We have also been invited to join Eastham WI on a day out to Llandudno on September 28th stopping at Tweedmill outlet for coffee en route. The cost will be £15.
We will bring boards to Bromborough golf club for members to sign for those who are unable to join us please email Phillipa to let her know if you’d like a place.
It would be good to support these opportunities as we are too small as a group to have financially viable days out further afield. Please sign up if you can.
