June Newsletter

Dear Members,

Thanks to everyone for making our Jubilee event such a success. Without members taking part so readily the efforts of the committee would have been in vain. I felt we ‘did her majesty proud’. You will all be pleased to hear that The Queen has enjoyed several outings since she had the pleasure of our company, a tree planting, a street party and two afternoon teas. She is also booked to attend the village fete as our special guest.

Four of us enjoyed our trip to the theatre, much fun was had, helped by a glass of wine in a pre-performance lunch at a French restaurant. Thanks to Jennifer for organising our cultural outing.

Jean Finney will be our speaker this month and Chris will be running our sales table so if you have anything suitable, please bring it along.

Birthday Dinner…we will need menu choices and payment at the June meeting. (£19.95 for two courses and £22.95 for three.) It’s not too late to put your name down!

Village Fete…we are raffling a wine and chocolate hamper on the day and would be grateful for any contributions from members. It would also be much appreciated if any members can spare half an hour to run the stall. There will be a list to sign. The event starts at 1.00pm and finishes at 4.30pm.
