Neston Riverside W.I.Newsletter No 104 - Wednesday 15th January 2020.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and a very Happy New Year. Well, it’s all over for another year and we head into the spring. The bulbs in the gardens are shooting up early but a hard frost will set them back. Even the pink blossom is starting to come out. For allotment holders and vegetable gardeners it’s time to sow onions and broad beans (that’s if you’ve not already planted them in the autumn).

Roberts Bakery – For the members who are going to Roberts Bakery on the 19th February an information sheet will be distributed to them regarding nail polish, make up, jewellery and false eyelashes and nails and anything else that could potentially drop into the dough. Please meet at the Royal Oak car park at 10a.m.

Royal Cheshire Show – If any member would like to apply for the W.I. tent at the Cheshire Show would they like to contact the committee for details.

Diners – The next diner’s meal will be at Kris Kri on Wednesday 5th February 6.30pm. Board available tonight.

Clickers – The knitting group will be meeting on Thursday 23rd January 2p.m at Net’s Café.

Readers – The next book club will be on Monday 10th February, Philippa’s house.

Rhapsodists – To be arranged.

Cameo/charity – The committee has recommended the Cameo Club as our charity of the year, but if any member has another charity they would like to recommend please do so. The members will put it to the vote tonight.

Sales Table – Christmas and New Year is over and some of us need to start clearing our cupboards out. We desperately need goods for the sales table, so the theme is SPRING CLEAN at February’s meeting. Perhaps as part of our fundraising we might book a Boot Sale later in the year. These have been successful in the past and really good fun.

Trips – Members will be asked if they have any ideas for trips for March and the remainder of the year.

Literary Lunch- The Literary Lunch this year is on Thursday 23rd April and the venue is Cheshire View, Christleton. No details as yet due to Whitefriars been closed over the Christmas period.
