Christmas is finally here. Once we’ve had Halloween then Guy Fawkes it soon comes on us and then it’s over in a flash, which leads me to the Sales Table. Please if you have any unwanted surplus gifts we would be most grateful to have them for the Sales Table. Every year members pick a charity of their choice to support throughout the year and the funds from the Sales Table help towards that charity. There will be Sales Tables throughout the year and your support is much appreciated.
Membership this coming year is £43.00 for a full member and £21.10 for a dual member. Members are quite welcome to invite a visitor and there will be a charge of £2.00 payable at the door. Visitors can come to our meetings three times and if they like us then they can join.
Diners – Thursday 9th January, 6p.m. for 6.30p.m. Britannia Spice, Park gate. Board and Menu available tonight. Adrienne Skinner is the contact for the Diners club.
Clickers – The knitting/crochet group will not be meeting till Thursday 23rd January. Net’s Café will be closed for two weeks over the Christmas and New Year period. New members very welcome or if you want to become an out-knitter wool can be provided. We meet 2p.m. till 3.30p.m. More information contact Julie Dawson 336 5759.
Creative Writing – The creative writing group will next meet on Monday 20th January 2p.m at Sandra Jones house. There only a few members but there is some interesting literature produced. Pauline Hignett is the contact for the Creative Writing group.
Rhapsodists – The Rhapsodists will be meeting up in the New Year. Again new members wanted. You don’t have to have a fantastic singing voice just a love of singing. Jennifer Ricketts is the contact. They meet on a Wednesday evening 7.30p.m. At our W.I. Hall. Jennifer hopes the Rhapsodists will sing at Luncheon clubs etc. Date for rehearsals to be arranged.
Book Group – The next Book Group will meet on Monday 13th January, 7.30p.m. The titles for this month are ‘The Spy and the Traitor by Ben Macintyre and Burial Rites by Hannah Kent.
