NEWSLETTER – A reminder that the newsletter can always be found on the website. It is very easy to access. Anyone wanting help is welcome to see Philippa.
COMMITTEE MEETING – All members are welcome to come to committee meetings to see what goes on. The next committee meeting will be on the 14th December in the Church Hall at 7.30. We would be delighted to see interested/curious members.
CHARLES THOMPSON MISSION –Final collection tonight. If anyone still has items to donate which they have not brought tonight please see Sandra who will be taking our contribution to the Mission on the 23rd November.
Items wanted: razor blades, small shaving foam, hats, gloves, scarves, small torches, snacks, e.g.cereal bars, body sprays, travel tampax/pads, dry shampoo, small packs of tissues, wet wipes. Items with a long use-by date please. Also good quality toys for any age.
LITTLE ACTORS – A cheque for £400 is being presented as agreed by members.
MACMILLAN - £225 was presented and a Thank You card has been received.
TABLECLOTHS – Catherine Hilditch has worked extremely hard to make tablecloths for our WI and we are extremely grateful to her.
SILK MUSEUM – Members had a very interesting, informative visit.
CRAFT TASTER DAY – This was a very enjoyable day with even the most un-crafty of us going away pleased with the cards and sweety trees we had made. Many thanks to Pauline and Brenda.
THEATRE VISIT – A Judgement in Stone was thoroughly enjoyed by those who went.
REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY – Members joined the Remembrance Day Parade, laid a wreath and made a donation of £75, including £50 from the sale of the poppies.
DECEMBER MEETING – A reminder that a full buffet is being provided.
SOUTH WIRRAL GROUP - 24th November at Gladstone Village Hall, Burton 7.30pm. Entertainment by “Western Approaches.” Tickets are still available at £4 each, please see Lyn Worrall
CAROL CONCERT – 6th December. Tickets to be handed out tonight.
CHRISTMAS AT WHITEFRIARS – Friday 8th December and Saturday 9th December. A chance to relax in our house in Chester and buy handcrafted Christmas items. There’s a board to sign. We will be using the 10.37 no.22 bus from Brook Street.
CHESHIRE QUIZ – Preliminary round 20.2.18. Anyone interested in being a member of the team please contact a committee member.
CHESHIRE FEDERATION COUNCIL MEETING – 10.3.18 at Sandbach. Closing date 23.2.18
NFWI ANNUAL MEETING - takes place in Cardiff on 6th June 2018. £20 a ticket. Closing date 23.2.18
SAMBA DRUMMING EXPERIENCE – If enough members are interested we will investigate having a workshop drumming session in March.
EMMA BRIDGEWATER FACTORY TOUR – Again, if there is enough interest we will arrange a tour next year of the pottery factory in Stoke-on-Trent, lunch and a chance to decorate one’s own plate.
RIVERSIDE DINERS - 13th December, The Wheatsheaf Ness at 7.30pm.
RIVERSIDE READERS – The next meeting of the book club is on Monday 4th December at Philippa’s house.
RIVERSIDE CLICKERS – £50 was raised through knitted poppy sales. Our next meeting is on Thursday 16th November when we will be going to Abercan for lunch. Meet at 10.30 at the Royal Oak.
It is suggested that we have a new target for those who wish to; knitting small white blankets for Sands stillbirth and neonatal death charity. Julie has patterns.
