LITTLE ACTORS – Sue Kendal will give a brief talk about this charity tonight.
BURSARY – There was only 1 applicant for the bursary so it will be awarded tonight.
VINTAGE TEA – Thanks to all those who came. We were treated to home made cakes and delicious sandwiches. The Lady Mayor also appeared to enjoy the event. Many thanks to those who helped out on the day. It would have been great to have had more of our members supporting us but despite that we raised £105 from sales and £97 from the raffle and tickets.
BIRTHDAY DINNER – This was enjoyed by all with only positive feedback and the book tokens were much appreciated. A lovely surprise.
AIRBUS -17th August meet at The Royal Oak at 9am. Volunteers to use their cars are needed, please see Gill. Please bring photographic i.d. eg passport or photo driving licence. Comfy shoes are recommended. It is a free tour but Airbus have asked if members would make a donation of £5 each for The British Heart Foundation.
CHATSWORTH – 6th September. There are still places available for this outing. Cost to Neston Riverside members is £20 payable at the August meeting. Full cost to others joining us is £33, cheques payable to Neston Riverside. We will leave the Royal Oak at 9am, returning approximately 4pm.
NATIONAL MEMORIAL ARBORETUM – Eight of our members have signed up to join Ness and Little Neston on 14th September for their outing. The cost is £20 can those people please pay Pauline at the August meeting, cheques made payable to Ness and Little Neston WI and she will hand the money over. The coach will leave from St Michael’s Church at 8.15am and we should be back by 3pm. Take a picnic or buy lunch on site.
METROPOLITAN (Catholic) CATHEDRAL LIVERPOOL - A trip has been organised on 27th September with a 1 hour guided tour starting at 12 noon and costing £2.50. An optional visit to the Lutyen’s Crypt underneath will cost £3.00. Board available tonight.
SILK MUSEUM – 26TH October Macclesfield. A coach has been booked for 9 am. The trip will cost £7 or £8.50 including tea or coffee. Half the group will be shown around the mill whilst the
remainder go round the museum then they will be swapped over. Sandwiches and soup can be made available to buy. Board available tonight.
CAROL CONCERT – 6th December. Board available tonight.
CHESHIRE FEDERATION AUTUMN MEETING - 3rd October at Winsford Lifestyle Centre with guest speaker John Mc Carthy CBE. Last date for tickets is 18th August. See Cheshire News for details.
